About
Sankaet Pathak co-founded Foundation in 2024 to build general-purpose humanoid robots that can do American industrial labor at scale, with an explicit emphasis on defense applications. Before Foundation he founded Synapse, the banking-as-a-service infrastructure startup that he ran from 2014 until its 2024 collapse, an experience he has spoken openly about as the technical and political education that shaped this second act. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, and Physics from the University of Memphis and did graduate work in electrical engineering. Foundation acquired Pensacola-based Boardwalk Robotics, renamed its humanoid platform Phantom, and has since secured a $24M Pentagon contract and produced the Phantom MK1 within thirteen months of founding.
