About
Sam Zeloof became internet-famous as a teenager for fabricating his own integrated circuits in his family's New Jersey garage, and turned that hobby into a thesis: that a working semiconductor fab could be radically miniaturized, simplified, and democratized. In 2023 he co-founded Atomic Semi with chip-design legend Jim Keller to build the equipment that makes it possible to spin a custom chip in hours rather than months. The company is backed by investors including OpenAI's Sam Altman and is targeting domestic, low-cost prototyping fabs as a bottleneck on American chip independence. Zeloof studied electrical engineering at Carnegie Mellon and has been a vocal advocate for reshoring semiconductor manufacturing back to the United States.
