Mark Groden is the founder and CEO of Skyryse, the Los Angeles-area aviation company building SkyOS, a flight operating system that replaces traditional rotorcraft controls with a fly-by-wire interface a pilot can operate by touch. He invented an unmanned aerial vehicle for the U.S. Air Force at sixteen and earned a Ph.D. in sensor data fusion from the University of Michigan before founding Skyryse in 2016 at age twenty-six. The company has demonstrated industry firsts including fully automated takeoff, hover and landing, as well as automated engine-out landing of a helicopter. Skyryse has raised more than $290 million from investors including Fidelity, Eclipse Ventures and Venrock.
