Joe Lonsdale co-founded Palantir Technologies in 2003 while still in his early twenties, drawing on the anti-fraud work he had done at PayPal as an intern under Peter Thiel. He left Palantir's day-to-day operations in 2009 to found Addepar, a wealth-management technology platform, and later co-founded the venture firm 8VC, which has become one of the most prolific investors in defense and industrial tech. Lonsdale is also a co-founder of OpenGov and an active backer of CHAOS Industries, Anduril alumni companies, and broader American manufacturing. He holds a BS in Computer Science from Stanford.
