Jacob DeWitte

Co-founder & CEO, Oklo

About

Jacob DeWitte co-founded Oklo in 2013 with his wife and MIT classmate Caroline Cochran to commercialize compact fast-spectrum nuclear reactors. He earned his S.M. in 2011 and Ph.D. in 2014 in Nuclear Science and Engineering from MIT, where his doctoral work focused on extending the lifetime and power output of large reactors before he pivoted to small advanced fission. Oklo went public via Sam Altman's AltC SPAC in May 2024, became the first NRC combined license applicant for a non-light-water advanced reactor, and is now scaling its Aurora powerhouse to serve hyperscaler data center demand.
