Evan Smith is co-founder and CEO of Altana, the supply-chain intelligence platform he started in 2018 with Peter Swartz and Raphael Tehranian. Before Altana, Smith led enterprise solutions and strategic partnerships at Panjiva, the global trade-data company that S&P Global acquired in 2018, and earlier ran IMBU Technologies, a textile supply-chain automation startup. He frames Altana's mission as fixing globalization rather than retreating from it, building a federated AI atlas that connects logistics providers, manufacturers, and government agencies including U.S. Customs and Border Protection around a shared map of supply-chain flows. He holds a bachelor's in economics from Yale.
