About
Edward Mehr is the co-founder and CEO of Machina Labs, the Los Angeles startup building robotic blacksmiths - software-defined manufacturing cells that can form, trim, scan, and heat-treat sheet metal into complex aerospace and defense parts without dedicated tooling. He was an early member of the engineering teams at SpaceX and at Relativity Space, where he is named on the foundational additive-manufacturing patent that defined Relativity's 3D-printed rocket program. Earlier he built systems at Google and Microsoft, and his expertise in machine learning is the connective tissue across every previous role. He started Machina in 2019 to apply that same software-first mentality to the rest of the manufacturing stack that 3D printing did not address.
