Brian O'Toole is CEO of BlackSky, the publicly traded geospatial-intelligence company, a role he has held since August 2018. He joined BlackSky in 2016 when the company acquired OpenWhere, the analytics startup he founded, initially serving as CTO before moving into the chief executive seat. Earlier in his career he co-founded ITspatial, where he pioneered real-time 3D mapping technology for government and commercial users. Under his leadership BlackSky completed its NYSE listing in 2021 and has become a primary supplier of high-revisit satellite imagery to U.S. defense and intelligence customers.
