About
Billy Thalheimer co-founded REGENT in 2020 with fellow MIT classmate Mike Klinker to commercialize the all-electric seaglider, a wing-in-ground-effect vehicle that operates as a boat, hydrofoil, and aircraft on a single airframe. He holds combined bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering from MIT and previously led flight physics modeling at Aurora Flight Sciences, where he and Klinker first worked together, and authored the custom aircraft design code behind Boeing's electric air taxi. REGENT's founding insight is that ground effect, not battery breakthrough, is what makes 100+ mile electric coastal transport economically viable today. The company has raised more than $90M and signed orders worth over $9B from operators across the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
