Augustus Doricko

Founder & CEO

About

Augustus Doricko is the founder and CEO of Rainmaker, the El Segundo cloud-seeding company using weather-resistant drones and novel radar to artificially increase precipitation over drought-stricken farmland in the American West. He is a UC Berkeley dropout and Thiel Fellow who built earlier technology to manage Texas water wells before turning to the atmosphere itself. His stated mission is to reverse the desertification of the American interior and ultimately terraform deserts into arable land. Rainmaker raised a $6.3 million seed and a $25 million Series A from Lowercarbon Capital, and in April 2026 announced what it calls the first-ever validated proof of human-induced precipitation, totalling over 143 million gallons of freshwater for Oregon and Utah customers.
