Alfred Johnson is co-founder and CEO of Crux, the capital markets platform that powers transferable tax credits and project finance for the clean economy. He served as Deputy Chief of Staff at the U.S. Treasury Department in the Biden administration, where he worked on implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act — the legislation that created the transferable credit market Crux was built around. Before Treasury he co-founded Mobilize with Allen Kramer (acquired by Bonterra/EveryAction in 2020), led Sales and People at Clara Lending, and was a Vice President at BlackRock. Crux has raised roughly $77M from a16z and others to become the leading marketplace for clean-energy and advanced-manufacturing tax-credit transactions.
