The product
VulcanForms invented and commercialized the world's first industrially scalable laser metal powder bed fusion (LPBF) system and runs vertically integrated digital production for high-performance metal components. It manufactures parts as a service from its 160,000 sq ft VulcanOne facility in Devens, MA, with downstream machining and inspection in Newburyport, MA.
The thesis
VulcanForms turned metal 3D printing from prototype tech into a real production process for aerospace, medical, and defense — at $1B+ valuation, it represents one of the few US-based digital factory networks operating at industrial scale.
