The product
Stoke Space is developing Nova, a fully and rapidly reusable two-stage launch vehicle, including a novel actively-cooled metallic heat shield and integrated regeneratively-cooled second-stage engine designed for tail-first reentry.
The thesis
Reusable upper stages are the holy grail of orbital launch economics. If Stoke pulls it off, US payload-to-orbit costs collapse and the launch cadence required for defense constellations and lunar logistics becomes attainable from American soil.
