The product
REGENT builds the Viceroy, a 12-passenger all-electric wing-in-ground-effect seaglider that operates within a wingspan of the water surface, combining airplane speed (~180 mph) with boat-class operating costs and infrastructure. A defense variant is under development for Marine Corps logistics in contested littorals.
The thesis
Reviving wing-in-ground-effect — a Cold War Soviet-era category — gives the U.S. fast, low-signature, runway-free maritime mobility that no current platform offers. The Rhode Island manufacturing campus is itself a coastal-state reindustrialization story.
