The product
PWR-20: a 20 MWe pressurized water microreactor sold as a turnkey power plant — full design, factory-modular construction, financing, ops, and decommissioning bundled. Targets industrial customers, datacenters, and grid-edge utilities, with initial European deployments in Romania, Poland, and the UK plus a pilot at a Texas university.
The thesis
Last Energy bets that the fastest path to scale is using known PWR physics in a small, repeatable, factory-built form factor — skipping the regulatory and supply-chain pain of bespoke gigawatt builds. They are one of 11 firms in DOE's Advanced Reactor Pilot Program and a leading microreactor candidate for distributed industrial power.
