Epirus

Solid-state high-power microwave systems that disable drone swarms with directed energy.

DefenseEnergySemiconductors
What they build

The product

Epirus builds the Leonidas family of solid-state, software-defined, high-power microwave (HPM) directed-energy systems for counter-UAS and counter-electronics missions. Variants include ground-based Leonidas, the H2O maritime version, and a Stryker-mounted system selected by the U.S. Army for the IFPC-HPM program.

Why it matters

The thesis

Cheap drone swarms have made traditional kinetic air defense uneconomical; directed-energy is the only credible answer at scale, and Epirus is the leader. Restoring U.S. ability to defend land and sea against mass-produced threats is a core reindustrialization need.
