Castelion is building Blackbeard, a long-range hypersonic strike weapon engineered from inception for industrial-rate output and continuous flight test iteration. The company is standing up Project Ranger, a 1,000-acre solid rocket motor manufacturing campus in Sandoval County, NM.

Why it matters

The thesis

U.S. hypersonic programs have been over-budget, slow, and produced in tiny lots. Castelion's SpaceX-style 'fly often, build cheap' model is the first credible American answer to PRC and Russian hypersonic mass production.
