The product
Ares Industries builds low-cost, mass-manufacturable anti-ship cruise missiles designed to be fired in networked swarms. Two flagship products: Goose, a ~20 lb payload weapon out to 100 miles; and Maverick, a ~100 lb payload weapon out to 1,000 miles. Targets a 10x smaller, 10x cheaper munition vs incumbents.
The thesis
The US has a critical anti-ship and standoff munitions shortfall, especially for an Indo-Pacific contingency. Ares is the first defense startup ever backed by Y Combinator and built + flight-tested a prototype in the Mojave within 11 weeks of founding — the speed-of-iteration playbook applied to missiles.
